Previously some major plot twists have happened off scene thus sparing the MC from any real emotional depictions &she REALLY breaks from that in this. The action is very addicting -that ENDING! Wow!

I decided to enact a book buying ban until I finish 15 currently owned books. These are my most anticipated so I pulled them all out, but might swap out some for some still on the shelf. Will I stick with this? Probably not. But I am starting with the tagged book. 📚

I remember when I first read this as a teenager I was devastated that Benton died, this time around I know what is coming in future books so didn't have quite the same impact.
pickBook 9 in the Kay Scarpetta series and this was a good one👍🏻Carrie is back and causing mayhem again! I like the way Cornwell has took a step back from the obsession Scarpetta has with her niece and it isn't as creepy as it has been in previous books. Benton though... 😪
