The Devil's Diadem
The Devil's Diadem | Sara Douglass
3 posts | 3 read | 1 to read
Sara Douglass has the breadth of vision necessary to create sweeping epics and the storytellers gift that makes readers love her. Locus Sara Douglass has already established herself as one of the most original and exciting of todays bestselling fantasists with her Wayfarer Redemption Trilogy, DarkGlass Mountain Trilogy, and other magnificent works of epic fantasy. With The Devils Diadem, she delivers a richly imaginative stand-alone novel of alternate history, set in a twelfth-century England similar to our own time, in which a virulent plague threatens to annihilate a kingdomand one unwitting young noblewoman holds the key to salvation. Library Journal puts Douglasss work, on a par with with Terry Goodkind and Robert Jordan. Read The Devils Diadem and you will most certainly agree.

Today‘s plan: finish THE DEVIL‘S DIADEM. It started well, became awesome, and may have slid back into regular strength really good territory with just over a hundred pages to go. I hope Douglass sticks the landing.

I decided AKI-WAYN-ZIH is a better in-between book than a primary read, so I switched to my first Sara Douglass! I‘m only thirty pages in, but it feels like a book I could love.

I made a nice, big library haul today to prepare for February. As always, I‘ll be taking the month off from Americans.

I‘m excited for all of these, but the tagged book especially delights me because it‘s the first thing I‘ve requested on a whim since I destroyed La TBR. @bookishnerd told me how much she likes Sara Douglass, and without a glut of unread books in my life there wasn‘t a reason in the world why I couldn‘t try her for myself.

GirlNamedJesse Oh my goodness, I LOVE Sara Douglass, too, though I haven‘t read the tagged one. I hope you enjoy it! 3y
xicanti @GirlNamedJesse my library doesn‘t have any complete series by her, so I figured this standalone was a good litmus test! If I like it, I‘ll start looking for her others at the thrift store. 3y
