Pickpick

Couldn't put it down! Conceived just before Odysseus leaves for Troy, Xanthe's life is dominated by her father's absence. Oppressed by circumstances she can't control, nevertheless she grows into a woman who shapes her destiny with her own choices. If you liked The Red Tent, you will enjoy Penelope's Daughter.

Mehso-so

Not as good as the author's other novel, The Four Seasons, but pretty good for a thoughtless pleasure read. The ending seemed rushed and too tidy after The Four Seasons though. Overall a nice break after a long semester of Toni Morrison and 19th century novels.

Days when I don't have duty or piles of paper to correct are the best--a solid hour to read in peace.

Now that I've gotten past my aversion to kindle books, I have a problem with reading them too quickly. Penelope's Daughter is an enjoyable pleasure read so far.

BonusPumpkin I have exactly the same issue! 🙈😄 10 so far this month 😬 9y
