“That's the thing about angry words - once you spill them out, they are like a broken jar of honey on the floor, all sticky and messy. And no matter how hard you try to clean it up, you can always feel that sticky part of the tile.”

I like how this book has more of a mythological aspect to it; the story talks about “selkies” and correlates it to the lives of a family.
Genre: Modern Fantasy
This book is about the disappearance of one‘s family‘s mother, whom they suspect took off and transformed into a “selkie.” The family uses clues that their mother left behind in order to solve the mystery and find her. This seems like it is a very different book that has more of a “mythological” aspect to it.
I had a lot of fun with this one #Ireland I am a mythology nerd so I love learning bits of folklore from other countries. So these definitely were the first to come to mind! And that movie Song of the Sea goes with the top picture since it has selkies in it! (The last three are púca, banshee, and the obvious leprechaun) I definitely recommend giving Irish mythological creatures a look up!

In their present-day tourist trap of an Irish seaside town, famed for its supposed involvement with selkies in the past, three sisters are faced with the sudden disappearance of their mother. Crushed by the loss, their father is struggling to carry on. To make matters worse, there are rumors in the village that their mother herself is a selkie and has gone back to sea.
