“They should be home. The thought scratched at Grace‘s mind as she peered out of a narrow upstairs window. “
Perfect snowy weather read - a missing husband, desolate landscape and sinister neighbors make for a satisfying mystery before bed.
I enjoyed this story, yes it was predictable, yes it was a bit slow at times and there wasn't any real suspense but it was a nice story with all the ends tied neatly in a bow.
Being serenaded by hubby while I curl up with my book 😍📖
I really wanted to like this book. It had all of the elements I enjoy - mystery, historical setting - but it lacked something. I had to keep reminding myself that this is set in 18th century America, right after the Revolutionary War. The dialogue reminded me too much of contemporary dialogue. And, I really disliked the lead character. Not the book for me, after all.
It's not quite 9:30 on the US East Coast, and I am fading fast...long week and restless nights does not do well for a night of reading. Maybe one more chapter before I call it a night. Thanks for a fun idea @Ambrosnazzy ! #Litsypartyofone
Can finally sit on the couch and enjoy #Litsypartyofone. This is my kind of party!
With hot days like this I'm dreaming (reading) of a colder climate!
