What really pleased me was that plot line in the past and the conflict that arose between the back-then protagonists.
Maybe only because I don‘t read World-War-I-fiction often but I could perfectly understand both parties. Each had arguments that were both relatable and irrational at the same time which made it engagingly difficult to take a side.
You see, the book really ain‘t bad. Overall I just missed the icing on the cake. 🤷🏽♀️
