She's doing all the wrong things for all the right reasons. After four months of unemployment, former book editor Clara Montgomery is officially stuck--stuck sleeping on her little brother's ugly couch in Queens, stuck scrolling through job listings in search of a new editorial position...and just desperate enough to take on a temporary gig clearing out abandoned storage units. If nothing else, she's determined to keep her rapidly dwindling savings account intact.Unfortunately, she is in no way prepared for stumbling upon dead snakes or dealing with glass jars that she's convinced are full of pickled eyeballs. And why does everything seem to smell like beets? Then Clara comes across a unit that was once owned by an escort service and finds the brothel "rsum" of a younger Caspian Tiddleswich, an astonishingly famous British actor. She has no intention of cashing in on her discovery, but her awkward attempts to reassure Caspian that his secret is safe go awry. Now Caspian is convinced that Clara is a blackmailer, the tabloids have her pegged as Caspian's newest girlfriend...and Clara begins to find the A-lister's charms more irresistible than she expected.

I found the first 50 pgs of this sort of slow to ramp up, but just when I was about to say "meh" and throw in the towel, the plot got going. I was pretty hooked after that. The romance was good, but the details built around it (Clara's job at the storage unit facility, her job search in New York's publishing industry, her constant worry about money) was what made the goofiness of the blackmail romance plot ring true. This was a fun popcorn read.

This is absolutely perfect if you‘re in the mood for a cute, witty read. Yes, the characters were cutouts from the quintessential contemporary romance, but the two leads were hilarious and full of chemistry. The plot was predictable, but still really really fun, thanks to the sparkling narration and witty dialogue. If you ever need a fantastic, funny beach read, make this your next pick! ★★★★☆.

If you are in the mood to read a dark and intense romance, do not read this book. If you are in the mood to read a light and hilarious novel of the author‘s daydream of dating a famous actor, read this book. The ending is a bit weak as I find there is too much explaining of character‘s motivations but so many fun parts to read.

No one‘s posted about this one yet but has anyone read it??? I succumbed to a #Netgalley email for some romance titles and I was really enjoying it but it just took an odd turn at the almost 50% mark and I‘m not sure what to think...
