Necroscope III: The Source
Necroscope III: The Source | Brian Lumley
6 posts | 6 read | 3 to read
The third book in the Necroscope series traces the battle between Harry Keogh and the horrifying Vamphyri on their home ground, an alien landscape of looming towers, impossible cliffs, and ravenous vampire-beasts.Russia's Ural Mountains hide a deadly secret: a supernatural portal to the country of the vampires. Soviet scientists and ESP-powered spies, in a secret military base, study the portal--and the powerfully evil creatures that emerge from it, intent on ravaging mankind. When Jazz Simmons, a British agent sent to infiltrate the base, is captured by the KGB espionage squad and forced through the portal, his last message tells Harry Keogh, the Necroscope, that the vampires are preparing for a mass invasion.Harry has only one option--to strike first. He must carry the human-vampire war to the vampire's own lands. But his strongest psychic power will be useless there. What good is the power to summon the dead in a country where nothing ever dies, where every man, woman, and child become half-dead servants of the Vamphyri?

Finished part three, this evening, of the truly awesome Necroscope series by Brian Lumley . I've probably posted too much on these books, but they are THAT good.

I'll probably start reading part 4 #DeadSpeak tomorrow. Good Halloween book.

More than halfway through the third book of Brian Lumoey's Necroscope Series. I cannot reccomend these books enough! If you are into smart, speculative sci-fi/fantasy/horror this series will mesmerize you like the Vamphyri of the Necroscope Series.

In this book we find out that Vamphyri originate from a doppleganger-like Earth that can be accessed BY a portal. Interestingly, our Earth is called "Hell-Land" by the Vamphyri of the other Earth.

Finished part two of the Necroscope series by Brian Lumley the other day and am about fifty pages deep into the third novel of this excellent vampri horror series focused on Harry Keogh the Necroscope, an unlikely hero who converses with the dead.

Part 3 had a strong start and is becoming even more compelling...

"For right after they'd tested it--after the bar of light shot up into the sky--then there came the smell of burning...ozone maybe?"

"There was no air, but neither was there any time, so that Clarke didn't need to breathe. And because there was no time, there was likewise no space; there was an absence of both of these essential ingredients of any universe of matter, but Clarke did not rupture and fly apart, because there was simply nowhere to fly to."(PG 128)

Found some more necroscope books to go with the others. Not sure if I have the first in the series yet. Also, yes that is a good charlotte DVD of their music videos from 2000-2003 plus commentaries. No it is not a book, nor is it book related but 14 year old me is way super excited right now
