A Pennsylvania school district banned the Mindy Kim series from classroom use over worries about, idk, porn or CRT or something. So here's a signal boost because the series is just fine for what it is but accidently caught the attention of haters.

swynn @Smrloomis Right? According to PEN America, which tracks book bans, the series was banned from the curriculum in the Central York Pennsylvania school district. According to other stories, IIUC, the school board was suspicious of a long list of books that had been acquired to improve diversity in the library's collection, and they banned the whole list until it could be reviewed title by title. Several Mindy Kim titles were in the list. 2y

Smrloomis @swynn oh wow. Just wow. I wish that weren‘t so common in the US. I can‘t even keep up with all the book banning/book challenges happening everywhere right now and I try to follow that sort of thing generally. Yikes! 2y
