I am just recognizing in this round that functional living is a skill I needed to return to. I can‘t walk a mile if I‘m not walking 10 steps. I‘ve gotten to a place where I can see routines being used, but also not beat myself up when I can‘t. #bookfitnesschallenge

KathyWheeler That‘s what the emphasis on positivity in this challenge has done for me — taught me that it was ok to occasionally mess up; that doing so did not mean I needed to beat myself up. 5y
MicrobeMom Yes! So great Chrissy! You are doing awesome! 👏 👏 5y

Dragonfairykats You can do it! Baby steps are the hardest thing to do sometimes. 💗 5y
Mitch That‘s life changing Chrissy 😘 5y
Itchyfeetreader Well done ! 5y
wanderinglynn Excellent Chrissy. 🙌🏻 We all have to take one step, one day at a time. Some days it‘s harder than others. Some days the one step is all we can take. But every step adds up. The important thing is you‘re taking that one step, you‘re making great progress, and you‘re not quitting. I am so proud of you. 😘 5y
sudi You're doing so great 👏👏👏 5y

Chrissyreadit @wanderinglynn that would be a lot of info! But each chapter is doable. Right now I‘ve walked- just one lap of my property, cup of Tulsi tea, and spent a few minutes of quiet. Plus dishes, but am just now getting ready for breakfast. And read two chapters in this book. 5y
Blaire Agree with above comments. 5y
mabell Yay! I‘m so glad you‘ve found it useful! And so happy to hear you are making real progress on your return to health ❤️ 5y
LapReader I‘m very proud of you. 5y

Pickpick

If I could only have one Ayurveda book it would be this one. I love the Daily and Seasonal Rituals.
Long Holiday Weekends always leave me feeling like I've lost control. Monday morning after is time to Steady the Buffs. A lovely phrase I learned from Downton Abbey. It means to stay calm, be careful, and persevere.
I'm picking my Rituals to make that happen. I'll list them in the comments.
🍋🌅🧘‍♀️🍽🥑📵📖😴

Crinoline_Laphroaig 1. Morning - Starting my day with hot water and lemon. Drinking outside in natural light helps to reset your body's natural clock. Few minutes of Meditation and Yoga, then savor a Cuppa (just 1 not 2) of Irish Breakfast tea with milk and sugar. 5y
Crinoline_Laphroaig 2. Midday - Clean up my eating habits. I did manage to keep to Main Meal of the Day being lunch. However there were Taco Doritos and Ice Cold Coca-Cola alongside my Veggie Burger. Fine for a holiday treat but not for everyday habit. 5y
Crinoline_Laphroaig 3. Evening - Turn off the noise. No phone, computer, or TV after 9:00 pm. Light from these stimulate the brain and lead to late nights. Reading (in Print not on Electronic Device) is a great way to Relax. Spending a few minutes in a Restorative Yoga Pose like Legs Up the Wall also helps calm my mind so I can get a Goodnight's sleep. I like to do this in my jammies, that way I'm ready for Bed. Lights Out - With longer Summer days, 10:30pm.

I will go to pretty much any event where a book is included with my ticket. Bonus points to local authors. Sarah is a yoga instructor and chiropractor who had some really interesting things to say about the health-promoting effects of daily and seasonal rituals.

rather_be_reading awesome! and go you for supporting local! 6y
