pickThis is part memoir and part history of Rocky Flats nuclear weapons plant in CO. It‘s interesting and Iverson has a lot to say about her life and the impacts of Rocky Flats. I think a map of the area and a timeline could have helped move this along. Parts were fantastic, other portions I scanned.

pickNarrative nonfiction by a woman who, as the title suggests, grew up in a small Colorado town close to Rocky Flats, a secret nuclear weapons plant once designated "the most contaminated site in America." The author intersperses the history of the nuclear facility with memories of her less-than-ideal childhood and family issues. I found myself skipping over the pages on the family life to get to the details of Rocky Flats. Still a decent read.
so-soDebating between 2.5 and 3 stars out of 5. Didn‘t care about author‘s dysfunctional family or her crappy young adult decisions. However, her writing on Rocky Flats was awesome and I learned a lot.

pickThis book is 80% expose on Rocky Flats and 20% dysfunctional family story, and it is SO good! The subject itself is kind of dry but the details of mismanagement, public endangerment, and government coverup are juicy.
