pickThis is such a great picture book about gender! Four kids, one trans, one cis, and two nonbinary, are introduced as a way to explain different gender identities. I love the bright and detailed illustrations with lots of fun kid life details. Not too pedantic, but also introduces new concepts. One page is a bit repetitive, but that's my only complaint.
pick4 ⭐ This book sets out to make a simple and easy to understand lesson on gender identity. It works and works well. The illustrations are lively and colorful, they make perfect sense with the information being given. This makes this a perfect book for those kids and adults who aren‘t quite getting the idea of gender inclusivity.
Kid's reads January 2022 - I only managed to complete 2 for me but... I read all of these to them soooooo I guess that's not terrible. ?
Our gender fluid identifying child is getting ready to start a "proud to be myself" book club and the first read will be "It feels good to be yourself". Excited to hear the kid's discussions afterwards. ❤️
