A nice short read! Holland is ready to start her second semester of senior year. Things are going fine. She has a great boyfriend and two great friends. But her mom is always putting pressure on her to get into a good college out of state. But when Cece comes to school, Holland starts to question if she‘s ever loved her boyfriend as anything more than a friend. 5🌟
It‘s Week TWO of Pride Month on the pod and Allison Punch joins me for a conversation about a 2003 YA queer romance, Keeping You A Secret by Julie Anne Peters. We talk about the impact that the book has had on Allison over the years, the lack of queer love stories for teens in the mainstream market when it was published, the coming out narrative, depictions of homophobia, and so much more. 🌈 Link to listen in bio!
Great book for any adolescent struggling with identity or tolerance. Though I'm past the adolescent stage of life, still a great read.
This book was a cute coming out story, it has true life parts that actually can and will happen.
