Have you ever read stories that were obviously well-written, where you can appreciate that craft while not actually enjoying the stories themselves? That‘s how I feel about most of the short stories in this Akashic Noir collection. They‘re worth reading, but this is not my favorite of the series. Several lacked any real conclusion, which vexed me, but it was great to finally finish a print book. I haven‘t done that since May 2nd. 😭😭

I know I‘ll never finish all of these, and that‘s okay. I‘ve been meaning to read Dune for ages and @Liatrek is hosting a buddy read, so now seems like a really good time. I‘m in the middle of Beneath the Mountain and Mythos, and I need to read Sanctuary for LibraryThing‘s Early Reviewers. Of the rest, two are recent #MyTBR recommendations and the others are from my May set-in-Germany personal challenge. 🎶Happy Birthday to me!🎶
