Taking a break from the not-very-good thesis on solarpunk and looking at pics of my son. *breath* #academiclife

This thesis is frustrating. Let's just say that he's not exactly making strong points. Also, of you are going to bitch on how people define progress, perhaps you should define what you mean by progess. Just saying. #academiclife

Lynnsoprano I‘m glad to see someone who uses as much red ink as my hubby😂 5y
tournevis @Lynnsoprano Only for grads. I find red makes undergrads cry 5y
Lynnsoprano @tournevis 🤣 Since hubby‘s retired, he‘s only doing peer review for journals. Unfortunately, a lot of what he reviews are papers by non-native English speakers, and he says he can‘t sort out what they‘re trying to say at times. It may be good science, but it has to be understood. 5y
tournevis @Lynnsoprano I get that😁, but to be fair, a large number of English-language papers from actual native Anglophones don't make much sense either. I regularly have to look for the verb. 5y

On the train going to uni for the first time this semester. Reading an MA thesis on solarpunk, featuring tagged. It's good so far, but the candidate has yet to even write the word "cli-fi", which is an essential piece of context. Their comparison to cyberpunk is right on, but incomplete. Oh well. #trainlife #academiclife
