Pickpick

This book is so well written.

This is a totally different level of strength from Tarryn Fisher. While she is know for writing brilliantly strong female characters, some of that ability is shined upon the male characters. The characters within this story are so dynamic and so well written. There is a vulnerability beyond the obvious, and there is a power hidden among the shadows.

This book starts out pretty cheesy. There are 12 men tasked to repopulate the regions after most of the men have died. We meet Folsom as he heads to the Red Region and he is met with a parade of penis floats. He meets Gwen, who he is to have sex with in hopes of getting her preggo. They fall in love which isn't allowed. Enter the evil Governor who will do her best to keep them apart. It was ok. Ends with major cliffhanger. Might read Bk 2.

Mehso-so

Folsom is based on this world where the majority of the male population died off or became sterile, so these other men have to go around impregnating all of these women. The book was okay, nothing special about it and really made me not like my own sex. This was the reverse of The Handmaids Tale. Folsom falls in love and impregnates Gwen, also it ends on a cliffhanger. I stopped at 60% and skimmed the rest of the book
