This book dropped the ball big time for me. I was enjoying the first 100 pages. It was feeling Hunger Games mixed with Black Mirror. But, the main character got so annoying and selfish that I couldn't take it anymore. Absolutely ruined the book for me. This could have been a great view on hive mind mentality in society. There were so many great things said about how society acts in these situations. I could not read from the MCs POV anymore. 2.5/5

It was such a great idea with mediocre execution. I definitely enjoyed it and read it quickly, it just wasn't amazing. I love books about technology and how it affects us as people, citizens and society, which this book definitely hit. But I felt like the plot was rushed and was super predictable, you knew who the bad guys were, what was going to happen, who would die well before it was revealed.

I was pretty excited to get to see Barry Lyga compete in a literary deathmatch.

Lyga writes some good mysteries for teens. This is his newest undertaking, and his brightest cover ever. I think the cover is a bit plain. It feels like a quick throw together, but the story sounds interesting.

Guys, this has turned out to be way better than I first expected. Y‘all should check it out. It seemed overly dramatic at first but I‘m really enjoying it now and sad that I‘m almost done with it. The page I‘m closest to filling up in my challenge. I can‘t remember who I was supposed to tag in this challenge though. 😝 I haven‘t been looking for books to specifically fit these criteria though. I read my ARCs, library books and audiobooks as I get them and then see if they fit a category.
