Oh Evan, I‘m sending you hugs! This is such a wonderful, heartbreaking story, and I get how easily a tragedy 🎭 such as this could go awry with unexpected tangents in a high school setting. I haven‘t seen the musical but listened to the soundtrack (thanks Alexa!) as I neared the end of this book.

Thought I would make a challenge for your current reads where you put emojis to the book and people can pick them to read based on the emojis.

Dear Evan Hansen, todays going to be a great day and here‘s why… It‘s Halloween and this is the most low maintenance costume ever 😜👕

Mattie was actually the only Bowser I saw at Morgan‘s Wonderland but he had a lot of fun saying hello to the many other citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom tonight. ❤️🍄💚 #Scarathlon #BatBrigade I also got my Halloween Blood Donation in earlier today for my Bucket List.

marleed Sweet - I hope Mattie had a great time! 12mo

Keia! What a great box you sent me. I am so excited to have these books and love all the other items. Cherry blossoms are one of my favorite things so I can‘t wait to try the tea and LOVE the mug warmer. I bought one for my dad last Christmas and was sorry I hadn‘t gotten one for myself. Love the bookmark, candy and masks. I love the introduction to witchy world with Everyday Spells. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You‘re the best!

Bookgoil What a fun package! Ill be interested to see how that mug warmer works! 😁 2y

February 19, 2023 5/5 stars. This book was about suicide and drugs. If you are sensitive to this, I would recommend not reading this. It was a sad book. The authors did a good job writing it but it was hard to read at times.

February 18, 2023 The relationship between Zoe Murphy (Connor Murphy's sister) and Evan Hansen has evolved. The kiss that they had in Connor's bedroom after he died was awkward but something in Evan made him feel better inside. He didnt even expect to kiss her but it happened. It was a "just in the moment" kiss. Let's say that to be safe *smirking*

February 18, 2023 15 days since I last posted about my TBR. I am here to update (a long overdue update that is) that I am taking a break from A Flicker in the Dark by Stacy Willingham and reading Dear Evan Hansen. The theme for the book is definitely about "belonging" and being noticed. I am close to halfway and I am feeling very emotional. I am also feeling a little sad.

February 3, 2023 My TBR stack is always growing. I got these four books while browsing Target. I am trying to read one nonfiction and two fiction books each month but I am stuck on the nonfiction book. I tend to read and order more fiction than nonfiction. Please share in the comments and @ me if you know of some good nonfiction authors.

⭐️⭐️ • I hated this. I haven‘t read the script for or seen the musical, so maybe just doesn‘t translate well to a novel? I was picturing Ben Platt the whole time which made it worse. Can‘t wait to hate-watch the movie version.

I love the musical and hated the movie. However, I must admit, it worked SO much better as a book. I especially loved the added insight of Conner through his POV chapters.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This year has started off as another slow reading year for me.
I‘m so behind on all my reading goals!
BUT THIS BOOK, Y‘ALL!!
It‘s the one I‘ve been waiting for all year so far.
The five star.
The one that tops everything I‘ve read so far & won‘t be able to compete with everything left to be read this year.
Required reading for all, FOREVER.
Run, do not walk, risk it in these pandemic days, to get yourself a copy of this one.

Never have I ever read a sentence that I thought would sum up the goal of what is learned being a suicide loss survivor.
It is SO HARD separating who a person was their whole life with how they left this world.
The goal is, for me anyway, to remember the person I lost for who he was while he lived.
For his best qualities & positive ways he impacted my life to live on.
For those lessons and traits to live on.
Forever. 💙

I was excited to read Dear Evan Hansen, which was written post-Broadway hit. I've, unfortunately, not yet seen the production (I had tickets for March, but.... 2020). The writing was subpar, and the characters were undynamic and frustrating. It's difficult to imagine the novel standing on its own.

I really enjoyed this ones especially as an audiobook. I thought it had a very valuable lesson about how one lie can turn into something so much more. I loved the characters and the way they took a serious topic and made it relatable and very easy to stay engaged in all the way through the book.

Evan is a lonely, anxious boy who feels like a burden to his overworked mother and ignored by his absent father. When he inadvertently gets mixed up in the suicide of a fellow classmate he‘s forced to evaluate some things about his own life. This book is great for anyone who‘s ever needed to really be seen. Now I wanna see the play

Well this has been a journey. Not a bad one either. When I first found the musical, I was not in a good place. It helped me more than you could possibly imagine. I was so thrilled to hear that they were releasing a novel. This story needs to reach more people. It honestly helped save my life. Maybe, just maybe, it can help someone else out too.

(This book is soooo worn from me reading it so much)

The way I‘ve been thinking, after all that‘s happened, maybe there‘s only one way to survive it. You have to let it in. Let it hurt you. And don‘t wait. It‘ll reach you eventually. Amazing story. I identified with Evan because I am an introvert & shy in a way that it is hard for me to talk to strangers. The writing is breathtaking. The characters are realistic. I wanted to reach out to hug Evan & tell him that life works out. Its okay to be different & an introvert.

The story tugs at your heart strings. It's a story of being found. It's a story that opens your eyes to thing you never thought possible. #LitsyLove
