Ex DA becomes criminal lawyer, takes on a murder case - the client did shoot and kill the person, it is a matter of how to defend him. Writing is good, it is just too slow (although introduction lets the reader know this is not like the TV dramas, it is more realistic and not as action packed). One person waiting for the ebook – I am happy to return it early and let someone else read it 😊

Here‘s my current read, in preparation for meeting my best friend in Michigan‘s Upper Peninsula (the book‘s setting) next month!

💙 I'm a small town gal. Grew up in a small college town in Illinois, then left to go to college in a different small college town in Michigan, and have been a Michigander ever since.
💙Anatomy of a Murder is set in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where I reside, and the film was shot in the UP, too. (Highly recommend both)
💙Adding a bonus book: The Overstory by Richard Powers. He was born and raised in my hometown in Illinois.

A view of Upper Michigan country justice in the 1950s. Full of “aw shucks” moments from a good ole country lawyer, but a good attorney nonetheless. The working of the case is superb and a good read. The perceived value of women (or lack of)is quite eye opening as well. Thank goodness we no longer all have to be like June Cleaver!!
