Power‘s back on!
Power‘s back on!
Major power outages in Md. Winds are super freaky. Hubby‘s out of town and generator is leaking gas out the bottom. So, we‘re hunkered down for a long night. Hoping to get some reading In with my book light.
Sometimes an oversized truck snags the overhead power lines, and there's a live wire in the street and the police have blocked off your driveway, so you just decide you're going to spend the night in finishing your book club book.
I ❤️ superhero books. Powerless did not disappoint. Tons of action--beginning to end--to keep readers hooked. Quick read too. My readers who enjoy strong character development might be a little put off, but that makes an interesting point we will explore. Hoping sequel lives up to the first, so I can add this to other series (Laybourne's Monument 14 or Barnes' The Naturals) I suggest to my readers who need a fast-paced, action-filled books read.
My school year begins soon. I'll have a new crop of 7th graders who call themselves non-readers. The comment I always see on my beginning of the year survey: reading is boring. For those students, I look for a book that immediately draws a reader into the action, showing them reading is far from boring. After 30 pages, Powerless could be one of those books. Only thing better than introducing a good book to a nonreader, introducing a good series.
Nearly 300 pages of superhero/villain/anything in between gold. Had to restrain myself from buying the next one.
Well i started reading powerless today. And am now addicted.to make things better look at what came in the mail today!!!!
