I'm a much bigger fan of DS's earlier books. Her current ones just seem like a giant fluff piece in comparison to the books from the latter 80s...

Isabelle McAvoy had a colorful life as an art buyer, a mother of 3 daughters, and a mostly-single parent. It‘s a great story of courage, dedication, and fortitude in times of tragedy. There are always blessings, even if one has to look harder to find them.

If this book had been written by any other author, it probably would have been a 4 star book for me. I've come to expect so much from DS that this one didn't quite make it as a four-star level book for me. I did enjoy it, it was a good "story" but lacked any real depth for me. It read a bit like a fairytale with extreme tragedies along the way to ending with everyone happy & the main character "gets a man". Good but, not my favorite DS.
This is the story of Isabelle, an art consultant, in New York City. She has three relationships and three daughters from those relationships. Her life has always been surrounded with art which she loves We get to see each relationship and how she comes about to have a child in her world of art.
This book is by Danielle Steel so of course it is interesting. It has shows how women have strength and don't need a man in their world.
