Hook Shot: A Hoops Novel
Hook Shot: A Hoops Novel | Kennedy Ryan

Divorced. Single Dad. Traded to a losing squad. Cheated on, betrayed, exposed. My perfect life blew up in my face and I'm still picking up the pieces. The last thing I need is her. A wildflower. A storm. A woman I can't resist. Lotus DuPree is a kick to my gut and a wrench in my plans from the moment our eyes meet. I promised myself I wouldn't trust a woman again, but I've never wanted anyone the way I want Lo. She not the plan I made, but she's the risk I have to take. A Warrior. A Baller. The one they call Gladiator. Kenan Ross charged into my life smelling all good, looking even better and snatching my breath from the moment we met. The last thing I need is him. I'm working on me. Facing my pain and conquering my demons. I've seen what trusting a man gets you. I. Don't. Have. Time. For. This. But he just keeps coming for me. Keeps knocking down my defenses and stealing my excuses one by one. He never gives up, and now... I'm not sure I want him to.

When I was walking this afternoon at the park with my dog, I listened to this playlist. I couldn‘t remember what song I listened to last time from the list so I started listening to it from the beginning. Favorite songs so far from the playlist are: Mine by Bazzi, Finesse by Bruno Mars feat. Cardi B, Youngblood by 5 Seconds Of Summer, Don‘t Stop The Music by Rihanna and Here by Alessia Cara.

She never disappoints. Kennedy Ryan is becoming one of my favorite authors. I loved the storyline and the characters. Any book about basketball is going to draw me in anyway. I love basketball players.

Gosh, Kennedy Ryan is quickly climbing to my favorites list! This book was incredible. I thought the way Ryan handled a character healing from childhood trauma and needing to build intimacy with a patient partner was superb. Lotus and Kenan's story squeezed my heart (and still had plenty of 🌶). Can be read as a standalone, but Lotus and some of her backstory won't be new to you if you've read Hoops first (this is technically the 3rd book).

I just finished reading the Hoops series by Kennedy Ryan. I started following her on Spotify and I saw that she made a playlist for the third book Hook Shot so I saved it to my Spotify Library to listen to later.

I started the third and final book Hook Shot in the Hoops trilogy tonight and I‘m liking it so far. I have so many book series I need to finish but I‘ve been wanting to read this series for awhile since I heard about it on BookTok and it only has 3 books so it‘s not a long series. Before I know it, I‘ll be finished reading the series.

Brought home 2 books from the library today. I checked out Stripped before, but didn't get a chance to read it.

This author/ series gets a lot of Instagram hype so I was excited to read it, but it wasn't my jam. It might be that it was just a lot more serious/darker than I was in the mood for, but we didn't click. I did really enjoy how both characters had big important career things happening, and they didn't try to hold each other back. I'll try another by this author someday and see if this was a fluke for me.

I really enjoyed reading the story of Lotus and Kenan, but I couldn't stand his ex and I wasn't a fan of his spoiled brat child Simone
Simone did grow up towards the end, but the baby mama drama took away from this story. Still enjoyable, but this just reminded me of what I had to deal with when I was with my ex
