Baby-Sitters Club #5: Dawn and the Impossible Three
Baby-Sitters Club #5: Dawn and the Impossible Three | Ann M Martin
11 posts | 29 read | 1 to read
The megahit series returns to charm and inspire another generation of baby-sitters! Following a brand-new prequel in April 2010, the first seven BSC titles are back with a new look. Can the Baby-sitters Club handle another member? Dawn hopes so -- she's the new girl, eager to make friends, and ready to show her talent as a baby-sitter. But when she's assigned to the terrible Barrett kids, Dawn isn't sure she's up to this impossible task!

Book 5 of the original Babysitters Club series. And with this book I've made my initial reading goal for the year by the end of 6 months. #50-2022

A great first Dawn book! She is a great character, so empathetic and good natured. I love how she recognizes that Kristy is jealous of her friendship with Mary Anne and invites Kristy over to get to know her on her own terms. And she is so mature handling the Barrett kids and their disorganized mom. Good for you Dawn, setting a boundary and refusing to keep doing Mrs Barrett's emotional labour and housework!

LiteraryinPA The BSC. My comfort reads all through my adolescence. 💗💗 3y
Bookwormjillk Have you ever listened to The Baby Sitters Club Club podcast? So funny. 3y
CaseyTheCanadianLesbrarian @Bookwormjillk I haven't! I'll have to check it out. I've listened to another BSC podcast, Stuck in Stoneybrook, though. It's great! 3y
CaseyTheCanadianLesbrarian @LiteraryinLawrence perfect comfort books right? 3y

accurate! I did always like Dawn‘s books best, with Stacey and Mary-Anne a close second. here‘s the quiz link if anyone else wants to try: https://bzfd.it/2JNauT1 #bsc

So this was about the newest member Dawn, who takes on Job involving 3 kids and a disorganized mom is going a divorce. I like Dawn but we‘re not really too alike.

GondorGirl Your reviews are makig me remember all of these books from when I was young. I would DEVOUR any BSC books I could get my hands on! ❤ 7y
Kshakal I was the same way @GondorGirl !! I am kicking myself now because I let my mom sell all of my BSC books at thrift sales! 7y
Zelma Fun! I recently gave my cousin's daughter a huge bin with all of my BSC, Beverly Cleary, Judy Blume and Little House books. She was in heaven! (Though I kind of wish I'd kept my Little House series.) 7y

There are a lot of felonies happening in Storybrook and yet everyone says it's a safe place to live 🤔

Mamashep I always thought the same things about the towns Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys lived in! 7y
robinb Convenient, huh??! 🤣🤣🤣 7y
emilyesears Not a book, but the BBC show Father Brown makes me feel that way too! Like Kembleford is painted as this quintessential British town yet there's a new murder every week! 7y

We've been out the last two days for Mardi Gras, so I've been catching up on grading and enjoying the beautiful weather with Penelope, the neighborhood cat. I've also read five of the BSC books. This teacher knows how to party. Happy Mardi Gras, y'all!

Alfoster Party on; you deserve it!👊👊👊🎉🎉🎉🍷🍷 8y

Dawn from The Babysitters Club is the first character I encountered with my name. I was SO excited. But our name was the only thing we had in common--she was a blonde haired, blue eyed vegetarian and I was a brown haired, brown eyed, chubby bookworm. I probably had more in common with the Dawn Treader--the boat from The Chronicles of Narnia. #riotgrams #characterwhosharesyourname #characterwhosharesmyname @bookriot
