A book filled with poems about bunnies and what they do. It is filled with onamonapia for children to picture sounds throughout the readings. There is a lot of repetition in the words that are used in the lines. Genre: Poetry; Published: 2007; Illustrator: Wendell Minor
“Softly now beats the beat of my heart
All for the love of you.”
I like how the book uses unusual formats for some of the writing to stress the usage of repetition.
This book was published in 1959. It is a unique book in the sense that it is divided into contents. The first part uses repetition and alliteration in the form of song. The second part uses repetition as well. The third section uses rhyme. This book introduces many different concepts of poetry to the reader which makes it a valuable tool in early childhood classrooms.
"Drum Drum Drum
Goes the drum in my heart
And the drum in my heart is
You."
I loved the illustrations and how the animals truly loved soft and cuddly.
I thought that this book was really cute. I enjoyed the rhythmic experience I was introduced to while reading. The repetition of the verses were strong while also being soft and whimsical at the same time. I thoroughly enjoyed the introduction of each animal and how it flowed together. Also, the alliteration of the animal sounds was a nice touch.
