pickStrange little tale that reminds me a bit of John Irving's writing.. meandering storyline, weird characters.. interesting read though.. third book not as tip top as first two.. that one reminds me a bit of Thomas Mann the magic mountain - pages of philosophical discussion.. 🙂

Long and muggy day at work. If I had any brain power left, I could pull a few more Canadians off the shelf - but this is all I could come up with on Fun Photo Friday. Canadian Literature is something I perpetually want to read more of, including some these authors! Thanks for all the reccs!

Robertson Davies was a stuck up, opinionated, sexist snob well into his 80s when I came of age back in the 80s. Apparently, he's also a wonderful novelist. Maybe now I'm ready to hold my politically correct nose and give him a try.
