I call Jane's books trashy - that's perhaps a little unfair; they deal with intense themes and this one is no different. It's got the usual references to infidelity, prison and Devon and Cornwall, but this time there is a dash of homelessness added. It is a page-turner and I enjoyed devouring it over two evenings. I thought the mental health storyline was compelling and well written, switching neatly between different time periods. A good read! 👍

Fast predictable read

This was a really interesting read. Its told from the point of view of Ellie and Jo. It does jump around a little but its easy to follow. I liked the changing time lines and learning about Ellies past. The story is quite slow but draws you in wanting to know what really happened. The ending was so good too. There's a couple of clever twists in this that just add to the story.

You know when you think a book is going to be one thing and it‘s turns out to be something else completely! Yeah, that. Thought it was a run of the mill psychological thriller and I just wasn‘t getting the twist! But it wasn‘t and it was actually really sad and left me quite emotional. Can‘t say anymore or will give it away. A good read 👍🏻

Could not put it down read it in 2 days

I was captured with this book although I was confused how the stories all came together but they did. Ellie has led a life full of trauma from losing her mum at a young age to gaining a step mum. In the meaningful relationships where she has connection there is also loss. The accident impacts her and the journey of her life changes. Beautifully written. You really gain an understanding of Ellie and the people she meets.
