This was a great picture that depicted the bird flying through the times of the bones, back to when they were still alive. Great illustrations!

I chose this book to be so-so. I would use this in a classroom library or even do a class workshop where the students tell me their interpretation.
Time Flies by Eric Rohmann is a picture book that was written in 1994 and selected as a Caldecott Honor book in 1995. This book is a picture book that depicts the travels of a bird though the ages of the dinosaurs. The book puts the perspective of the bird traveling through the assembled bones of the dinosaurs in a museum.
This book could be incorporated into a history lesson about the prehistoric times.
Time Flies by Eric Rohmann, 1995. Caldecott Award Winning Book. This is an entirely wordless book with strong images depicting the prehistoric times when dinosaurs roamed. It shows images of dinosaurs and lifelike dinosaur skeletons. Very powerful message of how life on earth has changed.
Published in 1994 this picture ONLY book tells a story through these wonderful illustrations of a time when dinosaurs walked the land. I think picture only books are really great for young children. They can still tell what is happening from the pictures but do not need to know how to read so that's great.
A bird flying through time then out again! Shows the history of dinosaurs easily

Time Flies by Eric Rohman (picture book published 1994) was a book with no words. I enjoyed the message & the idea of the bird flying though time periods but it was a kind of drab book with the colors.
This would be good for kindergarten or first grade children who are interested in dinosaurs and how they look different now
This book is a caldecott winner. I liked it and i think kids who like dinosaurs would yoo
This picture was really cool to me because the bird is inside flying through the dinosaur. The detail of the illustration is very well done.
I liked how this book told a story with the pictures and how the little bird in the beginning was in all of the pictures through out the book, telling you a story.
This book is told all in beautiful illustrations. It shows the journey of a bird who seemingly goes back in time to the time of the dinosaurs. The illustrations are just breathtaking and so wonderfully done.
Amazing pictures that shows a bird going back through time to when the dinosaurs were alive.
Caldecott honor book, 1994. Picture book that tells about the time when the dinosaurs were alive. Bird flies through and sees all types of dinosaurs and ends up in the mouth of one at the end. Pictures fill the page and are bold.
“The lone bird soared through the mighty insides.” (A quote a created for a wordless story)
My favorite image in this story is when you can see the bird is flying through the dinosaur.
This story is wordless but shows ideas of natural cycles. I like that this book pushes limits in a sense, because most children‘s book stray away from graphic ideas. I think it is important for children to understand human nature and not be afraid of it.
Because this book had no words, it allows children to think of how they portray the story.
A bird is flying through the ages of the dinosaurs. The bird is experiencing the dinosaurs environment. Transformations of what dinosaurs look like evolve through time while a bird is a witness. Award: Caldecott Honor; Published: 1994; Illustrator: Eric Rohmann
I think this would be a great book to show a classroom how dinosaurs look different, but how their structure is similar. Some dinosaurs used to fly, and others didn‘t have wings but were huge in size. The characteristics of the dinosaur‘s structure could be related to humans since humans all have similar bone structure.
While the book features no words, the story is told throughout the book‘s illustrations. The story is of a bird who seems to have gotten into a dinosaur history museum. The bird is very interested in the dinosaur bones and structure. I think the bird imagines what life would be like if dinosaurs were real, and then feels like he is in the mouth of one of the dinosaurs.
published in 1994. This book is very very different than most children books. This book has no words and the illustrations are very very detailed so that the story is still there within the book.
Although I can‘t quote a wordless book, I can provide an image that I love! This is a really striking photo that provides such detail in the use of lines!!
Published in 1994 and awarded the Caldecott in 1995, a wordless story come to life through the illustrations in the life of a small bird. The detailed, realistic illustrations paint a picture of the bird imagination and allow you to create any story you may see behind the pictures. The use of color is very important in a book like this because it enables the reader to imagine a time where this was once reality.
I am amazed by the way Rohmann told an entire story completely through his illustrations. It is an inspiring story of creativity and imagination. I would use this in my future classroom especially if we are learning about dinosaurs.
In this Caldecott Honor book, the illustrator Eric Rohmann uses only pictures to portray his story. He doesn‘t use any words but the reader and understand exactly what is happening through his detailed and realistic pictures. The story is about a bird in a museum that flies through time and is suddenly surrounded by real dinosaurs.
Your imagination expands in this book! I always made a new story after each time I read this book.
