3 posts | 8 read
#1 New York Times Bestseller#1 Wall Street Journal Bestseller From her years as the presidential press secretary to her debates with colleagues on Fox News' The Five, Dana Perino reveals the lessons she's learned that have guided her through life, kept her level-headed, and led to her success, even in the face of adversity. Thoughtful, inspiring, and often surprising, AND THE GOOD NEWS IS . . . traces Dana Perino's unlikely journey through politics and television. It's a remarkable American story-made up of equal parts determination and clear-eyed optimism. From facing professional challenges and confronting personal fears to stepping up to a podium for a President, Dana has come to expect the unexpected and has an uncanny ability to find the good news in any tough situation. AND THE GOOD NEWS IS . . . takes us from her Western childhood in Wyoming and Colorado to a chance meeting on an airplane that changes her life entirely. Then, with refreshing honesty and humor, she recounts her frustration with a string of unsatisfying jobs and living circumstances until a key career tip leads her back to Washington, D.C. to work for the Bush Administration. Dana also shares here her best work and life lessons-tips that will help you to get your point across convincingly while allowing your own grace and personality to shine through. As someone who still believes in working together to solve the problems our nation faces, Dana offers clear, practical advice on how to restore civility to our personal and public conversations. The result is a fascinating read that can help anyone become more successful, productive, and joyously content.

My mamacita is a Business Lady with a capital B. She‘s also a reliable mentor with a real knack for helping people help themselves. When I go to her office, I‘m always impressed with how much her employees and bosses trust her to look out for their best interests.

On my first day of my first full-time job she gave me (almost verbatim) this very same advice. She finished with “Make yourself indispensable!”

Pickpick

Maybe the only wholesome book written by a political figure. Dana Perino tells us about her family history, meeting her husband, and her road to becoming the White House Press Secretary. Along the way, she drops helpful advice for young professionals and shares anecdotes about her time in 43‘s administration. I thought it was an enjoyable read; she‘s definitely someone I admire.

Pictured is an image from the book‘s photo album. Made me emotional!

The whole note, from the Facebook group, won‘t fit in the image, but, it has the most important part. Our apologies for today‘s problems—slowness and connection problems. They were bad. But we think we fixed something important, and things will get better!

saresmoore Thanks for the updates! The database is absolutely a mess. I can‘t imagine the scope of hosting something like this and I don‘t think the originators of Litsy imagined it either. You all are doing wonderful work and deserve lots of doughnuts followed by a week of sleep and binge watching Netflix! Thank you! 🙌🍩😴🎞 7y

Melissa_J I just want to add my thanks for taking care of the site‘s infrastructure. Sometimes updates don‘t go quite as planned, but the problems didn‘t frustrate me. I knew they‘d be fixed even it took longer than planned. 7y
