I read this book #setonNewYearsEveDay last year, and I'm still thinking about it. A group of high school friends assign each other resolutions, and things (naturally) go sideways. At the same time, I loved the Latin American representation, and how much these friends loved each other. #AuldLangReads
This book about Latin American teens would have meant the world to me as a kid, & even as an adult I was DELIGHTED. I liked how it shows sometimes the people who love us see who we are more clearly than we do ourselves. In this case, however, the friends get more than they bargained for. I esp. liked how these kids were not super rebels or overachievers (except Jess), but regular kids. So refreshing & relatable, I could read this over & over.
Today was my Spring Break day to myself! Went to a local winery and it was lovely to read all afternoon! I forgot to take a photo, but this was the book I finished. A YA about Latin American teens! This would have been everything to me as a kid, and I'm so glad it exists.
I wasn‘t sure what to expect when I picked this one up but I adored it! Told from multiple POV from 4 best friends who make resolutions for each other. The story takes place over the course of a year and each friend is at a #crossroads and facing some difficult situations. The Resolutions was a heartwarming story of friendship filled with a diverse cast. I loved how this story played out and how all the characters interacted with each other.
4 teens make resolutions, with a twist. Your friends decide your resolutions. Fun, Latinx read!
