THE NO. 1 LADIES DETECTIVE AGENCY - Book 13 Fans around the world adore the best-selling No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series and its proprietor, Precious Ramotswe, Botswanas premier lady detective. In this charming series, Mma Ramotswewith help from her loyal associate, Grace Makutsinavigates her cases and her personal life with wisdom, good humor, and the occasional cup of tea. Precious Ramotswe is haunted by a repeated dream: a vision of a tall, strange man who waits for her beneath an acacia tree. Odd as this is, shes far too busy to worry about it. The best apprentice at Tlokweng Road Speedy Motors is in trouble with the law and stuck with the worst lawyer in Gaborone. Grace Makutsi and Phuti Radiphuti are building the house of their dreams, but their builder is not completely on the up and up. And, most shockingly, Mma Potokwane, defender of Botswanas weak and downtrodden, has been dismissed from her post as matron at the orphan farm. Can the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency help restore the beloved matron to her rightful position? As wealthy and powerful influences at the orphan farm become allied against their friend, help arrives from an unexpected visitor: the tall stranger from Mma Ramotswes dreams, who turns out to be none other than the estimable Clovis Andersen, author of the No. 1 Ladies prized manual, The Principles of Private Detection. Together, Mma Ramotswe, Mma Makutsi, and their teacher-turned-colleague help right this injustice and in the process discover something new about being a good detective. BONUS MATERIAL: This ebook edition includes an excerpt from Alexander McCall Smith's The Minor Adjustment Beauty Salon.

Not my favorite of the series but I always enjoy my time in Botswana with Precious and her community. 3.5 🌟

Spending time with my favorite detective (and assistant detective) in Botswana is relaxing as always. In this installment they get a visit and a little help from someone they look up to. 💚

iread2much When I worked at the public library, this was always a fun series to shelves and organize. I loved the bright covers! 4y

Another engaging installment. Though I noticed with this one the mystery wrapped up very quickly in the last couple of chapters without giving up many clues. But as always it‘s about the development of the delightful characters. MMA Makutsi‘s sassy “talking” shoes cracked me up more than ever.

Thanks to all of you for your sympathy over losing my dog Chloe. I tell my kids pets bring the best days and the one worst. The picture I posted will always remind me of how she‘d grab that pillow or my shoe for attention when I came home. 💜

So last night I turned to a comfort series - an installment I haven‘t read yet.

This was book 13 in the excellent No.1 Ladies Detective Agency Series. I didn‘t think it started as well as some but once the two key themes were developed (involving Fanwell and Mma Potokwani) I was totally hooked as these were great storylines. Also keep an eye out for one of Mma Ramotswe‘s heroes surprisingly turning up in the book. In the end enjoyed this one even more than usual. Definitely recommend the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
