#FallIntoReading Day 3: #OrangeBooks found at Chapters Bookstore in Dublin, Ireland. One of my fave bookstores now in the world.
#LitsyClassics L
So far the toughest of my challenge. The story of a yng merchant seaman who escapes from a sinking ship leaving many muslim passengers in to their fate. At the inquiry he is befriended by Marlow who follows his life with interest as it builds to an end with similarities to Heart of Darkness. Dense prose + at times felt never ending but several days after putting it down im glad to have read it and curious abt conrad and his life.
I am resorting to whisky now to try and get through this very dense book which is letter L in my #LitsyClassics - it's the first in my challenge that i am struggling with but as i never ever bail on a book i will finish but lordy lordy i deserve something light next.
Starting this next on @SerialReader I really hope I enjoy it more than I did Heart of Darkness.
It's a classic, I get what it does for future literature (especially The Great Gatsby) but it's honestly just so overrated.
Gotta admit, I‘ve actually never read this book. But, it was beautiful. With drawings throughout like this one. And it was a dollar. I had to get it.
The ship moved so smoothly that her onward motion was imperceptible to the senses of men, as though she had been a crowded planet speeding through the dark spaces of ether behind the swarm of suns, in the appalling and calm solitudes awaiting the breath of future creations.

One of my current reads has a convenient cover for today's #bodyofwater prompt! Yup, that's my pencil as an emergency bookmark.

@RealLifeReading
I love used books ❤ There's such a strong sense of comfort in-between the pages of a book that's been used by God knows how many people.
Are you all more for used or new books??
School's got me reading 5 books at a time and no time to finish any 🙄
