"This--THIS--is the cutting edge of science fiction." --Richard K. Morgan, author of Altered Carbon How do you stage a mutiny when you're only awake one day in a million? How do you conspire when your tiny handful of potential allies changes with each job shift? How do you engage an enemy that never sleeps, that sees through your eyes and hears through your ears, and relentlessly, honestly, only wants what's best for you? Trapped aboard the starship Eriophora, Sunday Ahzmundin is about to discover the components of any successful revolution: conspiracy, code--and unavoidable casualties. A muddled mess of a story. A group of humans are going around the galaxy (or universe it's never clear) building wormhole gates, spending millions of years in and out of stasis, controlled by an all-seeing AI called Chimp. I dozed off listening to this and had to rewind it. 2 🛸🛸
6th book for #SuperSeptember readathon @Andrew65 @EadieB

EadieB I‘ll have to read this book when I‘m having trouble sleeping 💤 Good job finishing your 6th book 📚 You‘re on Fire 🔥 with this readathon! 3y
Lucy_Anywhere I read this a while ago and it possibly works better in print. Cool concept but it‘s further in hard sci-fi than I usually venture and a lot of it went over my head. 3y
RamsFan1963 @Lucy_Anywhere That might be true, I did find the narrator's voice a little high and tinny. I turned down the speed to 1.25 but still annoying. 3y

A hard sci-fi focused on building the infrastructure needed for long distance space travel where we see what living on a ship for one‘s entire life can do to you. I‘m happy I read it because it‘s a different type of sub genre that I haven‘t experienced before and even though it wasn‘t my favorite I‘m happy I‘m starting to understand what sci-fi I like.

This novella has a really intriguing premise - how do you plot a rebellion against an AI when you‘re only awake for a few days every thousand years? It was well-written and the plot ticked along nicely but this is further into hard sci-fi than I usually venture and I would‘ve liked more of a human heart to the story. #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks

How cold is very cold...it‘s super chilly in NY, Westchester but sun is shining! How about you?

Branwen It was 13 degrees this morning here in Michigan! Brrrr! ❄ 5y
julesG I could make a Game of Thrones quote about the level of cold. 😁😬 5y
MartinaLove It's minus 13, feels like -21, here in Canada, NB. 5y
JaneyWaneyB It's rather breezy here in the UK as Storm Dennis is rampaging across the country. I don't know which I'd prefer...oh I do...Spring! I'd prefer Spring 🦋🌻🌼🐝🌞 5y

How do you stage a mutiny when you‘re only awake a few days in a century, when your tiny handful of co-conspirators get reshuffled every time they‘re called on deck? How do you plot against an enemy that never sleeps, that has all those empty ages to grind its brute-force way down every avenue, stumble across every careless clue you might have left behind?

What a great concept! I enjoyed every second of this hard-sci fi novella.
