pickApparently the way to get me intrigued about weighty classic volumes is to make them into nursery rhymes and poems with modified endings, then include summaries of the picture book author's reflections on the actual works in the back of the book. It worked!
Having kids that are all old enough for chapter books now, I don‘t spend much time with picture books. But working at a library has reintroduced me to them. This book, Shrunken Treasures, tells classics in verse, some set to popular songs like “Mary Had a Little Lamb” or “Three Blind Mice.” I absolutely adore books like this and I‘m glad I get the chance to read them again without my kids.
