This isn‘t a very attractive photo of me, and it‘s sort of a non book post, but today I had the unique honor of reading from The Wait which is mostly about Jen Bonner and her time on the heart transplant list.
Through her diary entries you can just feel her spirit and vibrancy in every sentence. Her hope, her love of life. She was an amazing woman in every way and I was so honored to dramatize her writings a little.
Life changing.
How can one describe something so beautiful? Jennifer Bonner is vibrant, real, and raw as she writes about waiting for a heart transplant. The way she talks about life, sex, love, lust, and her failing health will stay with me for a very long time. Beautifully poignant and sad, but so very wonderful and uplifting at the same time. Note: contains some strong language and references to sex.
