A group of disparate, sort-of friends come together for a weekend tennis party and things end up blowing up rather spectacularly. Basically, the foibles of rich people and those adjacent. I enjoyed this as a nice palette cleanser and even learned about the Lloyd‘s Name situation back in the 80s/90s.

There is a book equivalent to wanting to eat cake and not vegetables, it's called Chick Lit. This story contains all the neurotic characters we've come to expect from the authors from across the pond. Fast, enjoyable read for when you want a mental vacation.

theresidentromantic Chick lit is such a guilty pleasure even for someone like me, who mostly reads romance novels and #kindlecrack lol I love Molly Harper but I need it in very small doses. 7y

cornfedwellread I picked this one up on clearance at Barnes and Noble a while back since I've enjoyed her Sophie Kinsella novels. Sometimes you just need to add a little fun into your reading life, and she's great for that. I liked reading her stuff in college when I wasn't the mood to read more serious books on top of stuff for class. 😉 7y

Not book related - just being chatty! 😁 Been invited to see the tennis in Melbourne which is so #lucky but it means I had to go clothes shopping. I hate clothes shopping, anyone else in that club? Horrible mall, horrible trying things on, bleurgh. I am just Not Good at Clothes. Anyway I have some passable stuff now so I can go back to spending all my 💰 on 📚📚📚. PS for the life of me I can‘t find a dress or skirt I like. #ilovejeans 🤪

Centique @Reggie yes! I‘ve never been to see any tennis live before, so it‘s exciting. My mother (who died a long time ago) was a tennis fanatic though so I‘ve watched a lot on TV. 7y

Centique @CarolynM we‘re going with a company and I get an itinerary on Monday so I‘m not sure yet. Don‘t think it‘s corporate seating though, I‘m guessing the arena? 7y
