Spence did a lot of writing on mythology and folklore, but he was particularly interested in the Atlantis myth, which he was convinced was a historical reality, linking the cultures of Europe, Africa and the Americas. Whilst this theory had been superseded, Spence remains an interesting writer. I read this book on fairy folklore a long time ago, so I can't give a considered review, but my emotional response is of warmth, so I think it's a goodie.
