A decent YA thriller. Theo is working on a family project that is stirring up long buried secrets and the truth he's always known- that he lit the fire that destroyed his family- might not be reality. Very twisty.

Hmmm okay I liked this more than I thought I would. It ended up morphing from a contemporary mystery to a bit of a paranormal mystery thriller by the end. I was a bit bored at the beginning but I really got into it at the halfway mark. I do wish there would have been more screentime given to Iris because her background and psychic abilities were definitely a highlight! The debate of nature vs nurture debate was great to have in here!

Wasn't expecting much from this as it was a random pick from my TBR pile, but it turned out to be quite good. If you're unfamiliar with diving (like me), there's explanations of the different terms etc (including the title phrase) at the start of each chapter which was interesting. Name check for Tom Daley too! 2w
