Maria on tour in literary Iceland - first stop: Thórbergur Thodarson Museum in Hali. I‘ve been there two years ago but only had a look around the exterior, which is very noce by the way. The museum is shaped as a bookshelf with all the author‘s works. Wait for more pictures... ???

Although I really like the smell of newly printed books, I now buy used books most of the times. I find it quite interesting since sometimes you have annotations of former owners or - like in this case - you get books from libraries in place you have never heard of. I had to google where Abertstwyth is. 🙈 At least this book had a long and interesting life so far.

Nice day in the sun - with a good book. As I expected the English translation of one of my favourite books is a good as ther German one. Unfortunately only the part concerning Thordarson‘s love interest was translated, not the whole book. Knowing where cut-outs were and what should be there instead, one or two chapters changed their content a bit.

What do you do if a book impresses you soooo much you can‘t cope without it anymore? You get other translations of the very same book and read it all over again. ❤️?
(Or other books of the same author, but unfortunately there are no other translated books of him in any of the languages I read ?).
