Pickpick

▪️Photographic journal that exhibits Hiroshima & the many ways it tries to forget the A-Bomb while simultaneously advocating for peace & the abolishment of all nuclear weapons.
▪️Heartbreaking, real, unflinchingly candid.
▪️Excellent protest on the atrocities of war by taking the reader to the very survivors & victims of war for personal & highly emotional accounts.
▪️Makes you uncomfortable, astonished, & angry—rightfully so.
▪️Moved me to tears.

Gonna take a lunch break and begin on my second read for #BoutofBooks22!

This is a photographic journal of Hiroshima in the 70s, years after the bomb was dropped. We see how much the city has changed, while visiting people who are still suffering the affects—physically and mentally—of the catastrophic nuclear event.

As an Asian Studies (JPN) major, you can expect lots of Japanese books from me from here on out. ✌🏽
