pickI really enjoyed these short stories set in Indonesia. Some fairy tale & supernatural elements so it has a mythical (folk story) tone but the scenes and characters come alive. Traditional ideas (eg Cinderella) are subverted & women behave badly. I loved the originality & found the stories original & refreshing. Outside my comfort zone in a good way & I liked the element of surprise. #womenintranslation
