The Mercury 13: The True Story of Thirteen Women and the Dream of Space Flight | 
I didn't read the book, but I just finished the Netflix documentary. Yet another story of unsung heroes who faced disgusting discrimination to pave the way for future generations. It was heartbreaking to watch those who are still with us tell their story, but it ended on a positive note. I feel like the documentary did a good job of telling the story, but I'm glad to see there is a book as well.
My #libraryhaul to celebrate Juneteenth, Pride Month, and the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. Which to read first? (Books in the background are husbands, not mine!)
pickI picked this book up during a visit to Kennedy Space Center, and I am upset that more people don‘t know about this story. A must-read for anyone interested in the early space program!
