What would you do if you were driving along a country lane one night and discovered a man lying dead in the road? Jack and Cookie Garrity do something nobody - certainly not the killer - could have expected. Then the pair are witnesses to a second crime, and a link is made that puts them squarely in the frame. As Jack's weird behaviour and Cookie's creative amateur detecting lead DCI Sullivan astray, they arrive in a place where everything comes in twos, even the dead man is not all he seems, and what began as a mystery soon becomes a farce.
