Still working my way through the Chrestomanci books! Listened to this audiobook while working on this puzzle. I think this series is bringing me around on Diana Wynne Jones, who I always had very mixed experiences with in the past. Conrad‘s Fate is both a departure from and a continuation of the rest of this series. This book wasn‘t perfect, but it was fun and absorbing kids/YA fantasy when I needed it this week.

Another cute Chrestomanci story focusing on Conrad who is sent to a castle in order to change his luck. We also get to see more of what Christopher Chant gets up to on his way to becoming the next Chrestomanci.

I mounted my last floating shelf! (For now, at least). I also learned all the sinners in hell spend their time putting up vinyl wall stickers with lots of fiddly bits. Just say no to this decor choice, kids.

Also book-related: the pictures in the red frames are from my pulp art postcards stash. The one in the black frame is a print of some ewoks hanging out in Cathedral Grove.

I SURVIVED THE WEDDING! 😎👍 I had a few moments of panic, but mostly it went okay. I got out of there as soon as I could, basically! 😁 Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement yesterday! I read them throughout the evening and they helped give me the strength to keep going! 💕 The rest of this glorious long weekend will be spent lovingly with books and tea and solitude! Finished my book, now semi-reading over husband‘s shoulder. I‘ve been making him read Diana Wynne Jones. 📚🚂

My dad and I got in a fight over whether this was a nectarine/peach or a red plum. It reminded me of the vegetable identification scene from CONRAD'S FATE.

(It's a nectarine--distinguished from a peach by its smooth skin and from a red plum by its yellowy flesh--and it was so good I ate two.)
