My first introduction to Shirley Jackson who I‘ve heard so much about! A set of 3 short stories where she offers no easy explanations or conclusions to the reader. An underlying sense of eerie-ness that persists even if we don‘t completely get what‘s going on. Great mindbenders. Definitely interested in reading more of her soon!

This little book contains three creepy stories. I think this was a great introduction to the work of Shirley Jackson and I‘ll be sure to check our her other work soon. This one is getting 4 stars from me.

An OK little read. Very short stories with a fair amount of variety but no standout piece.

I didn‘t even know that Penguin did these cute little mint green modern classics!!! 😲 Thank you @TrishB for my first one! I feel a new collection starting...! 😏 (plus I‘ve been dying to read something by Shirley Jackson for a while now 👍🏻)

These were my #bookmail today! They are part of a new set of 50 penguin modern short stories and books! The problem is - now I want all 50! 🤣 I also absolutely love the duck egg blue colour of them! 😍😍😍😍

I really enjoyed the three short stories in this collection. They're mind-boggling and brilliant. My most favorite would be "Journey with a Lady".
