Pickpick

Don Luis de Vargas visits his father, a wealthy landowner in a rural town, before taking clerical orders. Through letters written to his uncle, and confessor, we learn about his growing admiration for Pepita Jimenez, a pious, young widow courted by his father. You can guess what happens, but the outcome may still surprise you. It‘s almost an utopian novel - the life of the wealthy landowners, balanced with faith, described as a bucolic existence.

I love this Novel, how crazy for a women to fall in love with the towns priest. A young women that sacrificed for happiness for her mother and ended up alone. Sad and happy all at the same time.

Classic Mexican cinema with Ricardo Montalban before he was Khan. Pepita Jimenez 1946. I'll have to get around to the book at some point.

Christyco125 I always think of “The plane, the plane” when I see him. 7y
DGRachel @Christyco125 Yes. Even though I‘ve seen him as Khan, I always think of Fantasy Island when I see him. 7y
JoRead @DGRachel @Christyco125 I do the same thing! 7y

Sace @Christyco125 I don't blame him for taking that role, but it's such a shame because he's amazing. I would encourage everyone to see him in this. 7y
Christyco125 @RestlessFickleBookSlut I love Benedict Cumberbatch. However, he will never be the best Kahn. I‘ll have to give this movie a try too. 7y
Sace @Christyco125 Montalban has such screen presence. 7y
