From #1 NYT bestselling author Lauren Blakely comes a breathtaking new romance that will sweep you away! They say Paris is always a good idea... You know what I say? Paris would be a much better idea if I spoke the dang language. I can't even board the metro to visit the Louvre without ending up at the Moulin Rouge, and let's not even mention how I'll ever make it through a day at my new office. Fortunately my company hooks me up with my own personal translator. Ooh la la. Or should I say bloody hell? Because he's charming, witty, and British, and he brings the city to life for me. Soon, I can order a croque monsieur hold the ham, discuss perfume with my co-workers, and barter at the outdoor market. I can also tell the sexy Brit by my side how much I want him to kiss me under the streetlamps. Except there's a catch - Paris might be all we have. *** One more assignment before I can take off on my big adventure... And it's a good farewell gig too since my newest client is a fetching American who loves to explore the cafes and cobbled streets while I teach her the language of love. We fall into a fast and flirty friendship, but Paris has a way of making lovers out of friends, and soon we're spending our nights together too - trs risqu. The trouble is, my wanderlust is calling to me, and soon I'll be traveling the globe to fulfill a promise I made long ago. What could possibly go wrong with falling in love in Paris? Nothing...unless one of you is leaving.

This turned out to be a one-day audiobook... I just could not stop. 😳

It‘s fun, romantic, sexy brain candy, not badly written, and set in lovely Paris. Oh, and it‘s narrated by Richard freaking Armitage. I‘m not sure I was prepared for him to say such deliciously naughty things, but I was not opposed to it. At all.🔥

I‘m not crazy about the actual cover on Audible (see my last post), so I fixed it above. 😂

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

StellaDz I might just have to look this up for Armitage ... ❤️❤️❤️ 6y
robinb Oh. My. Word. Armitage?! Who cares what he‘s reading....that voice! 😍😍😍 6y
LauraJ I definitely like your cover better! 6y

theresidentromantic I don't even need the summary, downloading for Armitage and my daydreams about his North & South face 😍😍😍 6y
sprainedbrain @StellaDz @robinb @theresidentromantic that is why I got this book to begin with. 😂 I‘ve listened to him read other books, but this was the first one with super sexy times. 6y
sprainedbrain @LauraJ I appreciate your support. 😂 6y
CarolynM You've sold me 😉 I needed a new audiobook anyway... 6y
MemoirsForMe Your cover is sooooo much better! 6y

Not really a fan of this cover...

But I‘m just a few minutes in to this audiobook and it‘s promising. I have laughed already and would rather not go to work.

The narration is great—Richard Armitage makes my toes curl a little. In a really good way. 😳😍😂

ScientistSam 💞 Richard Armitage! That voice! 6y
sprainedbrain @ScientistSam @audraelizabeth I love his voice. Actually only got this book because of him. 😂 6y
StellaDz I agree. Other ‘cover‘ is so much better 😉😉😉 6y
sprainedbrain @StellaDz Haha! Thanks!! 6y

Audiobook Narrated by Richard Armitage and Grace Grant

2 Stars - This was not what I have come to expect from Lauren Blakely. I found it very slow and I wasn't too keen on the leading lady. Sadly I also didn't feel much chemistry between Joy and Griffin. There were a few funny parts and the ending was nicely done. I enjoyed their happily ever after. The narrators were decent and clear spoken.

Generally I have a difficult time listening to audiobooks, but this one captured me. I don't know if it was the Parisian setting and the wonderful descriptions of the city or Richard Armitage being one of the narrators (that man could make the phone book sound sexy), but I always hated when I needed to stop this book to do other things. A fun story that will have you daydreaming about the City of Light. 👇

bookishbunny Finishing this and Magically Banished have me 5 hours into #25infive. 7y

I am having a bad run with audiobooks. I disliked the female narrator, did not enjoy the writing-it felt unrealistic and stilted, and honestly only made it to the end because Richard Armitage was the second narrator. I kind of wish I‘d bailed, but at least I can get my credit back from Audible.

readinginthedark 😆I‘m just surprised Richard Armitage narrated a part on some random romance! 7y

I grabbed this because it‘s narrated in part by Richard Armitage. His voice is dreamy for #audiocrochet even if the story is barely “meh”. As you can see from the top #temperatureafghan rows, our weather here has been a roller coaster this last week.

TricksyTails Richard Armitage could read the CDC Manual and I‘d find it irresistible. ♥️ Your crochet looks beautiful! Is this the one you started a little while back with different colors? I love the pattern! 😍 7y
DGRachel @TricksyTails Yes, it‘s the same one. Thank you. 😊 I do one row per day in a color for that day‘s high temperature. I can‘t believe we‘ve already had one 80+ degree day in February! I think there are at least two more in the forecast for next week. 7y
TricksyTails How fun!! Did you start it the first of the year? Is the pattern online or your own? I love it! 80+??? No thank you! I want mine to be all blue! I‘m allergic to the sun! 😂 7y

DGRachel @TricksyTails Yep. This is my 2018 Charlotte NC blanket. I‘m looking forward to seeing it at the end of the year. (edited) 7y
DGRachel @TricksyTails I think the pattern is called Apache tears. I found a YouTube video on Pinterest. 7y
Kaye Your afghan is turning out so pretty. 7y
tammysue I love the colors! 7y
MatchlessMarie Yasss I listened to the classic Love Poems he narrated for audible last month and I definitely want to listen to more of his narrations in the future 👂🍬 7y
DGRachel @Kaye Thanks! @whatshesreadingnow Me, too. I tweaked the choices a bit from the one I saw on Pinterest and I‘m happy with my choices. The orange will never be my favorite color, but it‘s definitely a bright, warm shade, so it‘s good for the 80s. 😊 7y
DGRachel @MatchlessMarie I‘m not a fan of poetry as a general rule, but I may have to see if I can find the ones he narrates. I wouldn‘t recommend this book, but he narrates a few other things that I‘ve really enjoyed. 7y
Maria514626 Richard Armitage??? I‘d listen to him read the worst book in the world! ❤️ 7y
DGRachel @Maria514626 He‘s the only reason I haven‘t bailed on this audiobook! 7y
Maria514626 @DGRachel Have you seen the BBC‘s North & South or MI-5? Excellent and he‘s excellent in them! 7y
DGRachel @Maria514626 Yes! I own North & South on DVD. I haven‘t seen him in MI-5, because I was trying to watch in order, and got distracted by other shows before I reached his seasons. 7y
Maria514626 Oh, smoldering Mr. Thornton on demand! 🤗 7y
drokka Do you do a row a day? For how long? I love this idea for an Afghan. 7y
DGRachel @drokka Yes. It‘s one row per day in the color that represents the high temperature for the day. I plan to do a full year (1/1 - 12/31/18). I posted at the beginning of January with the original color scheme: post on http://litsy.com/p/N3F4YVFnZENI Not sure if the link will work, but I‘m sure I‘ll post again with another copy of the actual color template. 😊 (edited) 7y
MatchlessMarie @DGRachel I came across a handful of classics he narrates on audible as well. The poetry collection wasn‘t very long, maybe 30 min. 7y
AshleyHoss820 I have a couple of temperature Afghans but I used the camel stitch! Is this Apache Tears stitch? I love it!! Also: Armitage? 🤤🤤🤤 7y
DGRachel @AshleyHoss820 Yes, this is an Apache Tears pattern. 😊 I found a tutorial video on YouTube and it looked easy enough for me. I‘ve never done anything more complicated than a treble crochet stitch and only done a pattern (a chevron) once before on a very small afghan. Usually, when I get the crochet bug, I buy a bunch of variegated yarn and just do a double or treble crochet stitches until I no longer feel the urge to crochet. 😂 7y
AshleyHoss820 @DGRachel 😂😂😂 I crochet a lot! I‘m working on the Peppermint Throw by RedHeart for the 13th time...😄😄 I think your doing a lovely job! One row a day isn‘t too much of a commitment and can help cure that Crochet Bug! 😄 7y
DGRachel @AshleyHoss820 Thank you! I‘m really enjoying the experience and I love that I‘ll have a historical record when I‘m done. I‘ll have to look up that camel stitch. Ideas for next year! 7y
AshleyHoss820 @DGRachel It‘s an easy stitch and it looks knit! 😄 7y
DGRachel @AshleyHoss820 I‘ve been hunting YouTube videos. 😂 I have some ugly yarn that I know I won‘t use in a real blanket, so I may work up a swatch this week, just to try it out. It looks neat! Thank you for mentioning it! 7y
AshleyHoss820 @DGRachel No problem!! I like corrupting people and making them crochet more! 😂😂😂 Have fun! 7y

Audible pre order finally arrived. Not sure how good the story will be, but it won‘t matter with RICHARD ARMITAGE reading it to me! #myfictionalboyfriend

sprainedbrain Gosh I love his narration! 😍 7y
