What a cute story! A great RA about Charlie who had a favorite book about a pirate who also had a favorite book about a knight who also had a favorite book and so on! This F is such an easy read and the students will love this story! We are always encouraging them to love reading so books about favorite books seem like a great one for the library! #LAE3414sp19

KAdudu This book seems interesting and I can‘t wait to read and see what‘s it about. 6y
melindamcmullen84 This site has a lesson plan idea but then additional websites to check out more ideas, like Julia Donaldson‘s own page. http://pyplibrarian.com/hweo-lesson-plans/patterns/patterns-3-charlie-cooks-favo... 6y
melindamcmullen84 UDL 2.2 clarifying syntax & structure & 8.3 foster collaboration and community are both great during this lesson. ESOL 37 (using language techniques for discussing concepts and ideas) will be used while going over “nesting” and the form of the book. 6y
LaGasseSam1996 Just reading the title I can tell this would be a story students love. Having books in our classrooms students love will help encourage a love for reading. 6y

My daughter likes this one but I LOVE it! Definitely one of my favourites and one I know I'd have adored as a child. The rhymes and illustrations are exactly what you'd expect from the Donaldson/Scheffler dream team but it is the structure of this one that delights - it's a book about a book about a book about a book! The cover shows Charlie reading the book you're reading! It's just so clever, so satisfying and a lot of fun!

Anna40 What are group would you say enjoys it most? 7y

readingjedi @Anna40 As @ravenlee said 2 to 3 is a good age to start with this one and I think children of a much older age would enjoy it too. My daughter is nearly 4 & still enjoys it. I hope that when she's older she'll read it herself. 7y
Anna40 sounds perfect for us then :) 7y
