The characters in this book kind of drove me nuts, but I‘m glad I finished it. It‘s part King Lear and part sea monsters, and is set on an island that sometimes belongs to Canada and sometimes to the US. It has a very unique sense of place.

(Audio) This was just ok for me. The plot was pretty blah, in my opinion. People fighting over lobsters? Zzzzzzzzzz The characters were interesting enough; the story just never grabbed me like it should have. #LitsyAtoZ

This book is set on a fictional island off the coast of Maine near the Canadian border. I haven't been to Maine yet but this is the book that started my obsession with the state. #augustlibrary17

This book felt like home to me. Living on the coast of Maine no matter how far north is always wonderful! Following the ups and downs of a lobstering family, it's an enjoyable read!
OOB Libraries book club pick of May! I'm kind of excited for this one because it is set in Maine!
