Lo I am truly my father's (risk averse surveyor) daughter - I messaged him about this, his response was: "you can't insure against certainties".

Ugh. If this wasn't for book club I would bail (still might). Three chapters in - each chapter about a different set of characters and it's all infodumps about their back stories. Basically nothing has actually happened yet. Books that start like this are usually automatic bails for me. Is this one worth sticking with?

pickPerfect summer read. Exactly what you'd expect from Jane Green. Let's all move to Nantucket and have lovely, uncomplicated lives.
It's a little distracting that this book set in Nantuckett has very English dialogue. American couples don't typically "row" and I've never referred to myself as "quite pleased" about anything. Pretty sure "fairy lights" are strictly English. It's not important, but I can't help noticing.
Can we all agree that leaving food debris in library books is DISGUSTING and if you can't keep you Cheeto dust off the pages, maybe hold off on snacking?
Finally! Some legit SUMMER BEACH reading. If only I were on a beach instead of stuck in this parking lot.
