A Dance with Dragons: Part 1 Dreams and Dust
A Dance with Dragons: Part 1 Dreams and Dust | George R. R. Martin
HBO's hit series A GAME OF THRONES is based on George R.R. Martin's internationally bestselling series A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE, the greatest fantasy epic of the modern age. A DANCE WITH DRAGONS: DREAMS AND DUST is the first part of the fifth volume in the series. In the aftermath of a colossal battle, new threats are emerging from every direction. Tyrion Lannister, having killed his father, and wrongfully accused of killing his nephew, King Joffrey, has escaped from King's Landing with a price on his head. To the north lies the great Wall of ice and stone - a structure only as strong as those guarding it. Eddard Stark's bastard son Jon Snow has been elected 998th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. But Jon has enemies both inside and beyond the Wall. And in the east Daenerys Targaryen struggles to hold a city built on dreams and dust.

The first of the nine books I struggled with. Don't know if it was the length, or the wrong time for this book, or if it's me... If this wouldn't have been the second to last volume (for now), I would've bailed on the series. At the end it slowly started to draw me in again. The scenes became more captivating and I finally -finally!- reading didn't felt like a chore anymore.

This book dealt with the characters that weren't in the previous book - those in the North and across the Narrow Sea. It was entertaining and I enjoyed reading it, but I don't feel like it progressed the story much for any of the characters.

Thanks @CrowCAH , my favourite character is Tyrion ( although maybe he's not really a Lannister?)

CrowCAH He's one of my fav characters, too! He plays the game well. 7y

I just finished this #book this morning and I am in awe. I don't know how George R.R Martin continues to write such incredibly creative and interesting stories! I loved Dany, Jon and Tyrion's chapters but Bran was actually my favourite this time, shocking! Head over to my blog (thebookishkirra.wordpress.com) for a full review.

"Das Lied von Eis und Feuer - Der Sohn des Greifen" war genauso spannend wie auch schon die vorherigen acht Bücher. Immer wieder habe ich gedacht: "Das kann doch nicht sein!" (Doch, kann es anscheinend schon...) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nur noch ein Buch, bevor die Reihe erstmal zu Ende ist ?
